John Richard Holsinger

John Richard Holsinger passed away May 1, 2013 at his home in Hampton, Virginia. He was born August 7, 1946 in Boston, Massachusettes and was a resident of Hampton, Virginia for 56 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Expert Badge Rifle Award. After his military service, he was a long time employee of Wyle Laboratories and NASA. He was an active member of American Legion Post 25 in Newport News, Virginia and the Loyal Order of the Moose, Newport News, Virginia Lodge 1119.
He is survived by his parents, Paul and Eileen Holsinger of Hampton, Virginia; his two sisters, Karen Holsinger Gott of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and Cindy Holsinger Sample of Hampton, Virginia; two nieces, Cheri Gott Helman, and Stacey Gott Walls both of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; four nephews, Robert Scott Gott of Pueblo, Colorado, James Paul Sample, Randall Douglas Sample, and Nicholas Everett Sample all of Hampton, Virginia; and also his long time companion Mary Lee Guilford.
The family will receive friends at the home of his parents, Paul and Eileen Holsinger at 108 Londonshire Terrace, in Hampton, Virginia on Friday May 3, 2013 from 6-8pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11am at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, Virginia. The family will receive friends at his parents home following the service.
