Dwight E. Carr

DWIGHT E. CARR, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at his residence. He was born Nov. 26, 1926 in Nevada, Ohio the son of the late Leslie and Geraldine (Fox) Carr. He married the late Patricia (Gordon) Carr in 1948. He was a 1944 graduate of Deshler H.S. in Deshler, Ohio and a 1968 graduate of St. Francis College. He served in the U.S. Navy 1944 to 1946. He was a Certified Orthotist. He began his career at Wayne Pharmacal Supply Co. in 1947. He enjoyed serving as the Orthotist for the Fort Wayne Crippled Children's Clinic for several years. He was a member of St. Judes Catholic Church, American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. Surviving are his daughter, Linda (Joe) Battiato of Indianapolis; son, Ronald E. Carr of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, and Kristen Battiato; and Stephanie Carr; sister, Janet Koppenhofer. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at St. Judes Catholic Church. Father Thomas Shoemaker officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana and St. Judes Catholic Church.
