Obituary of Barbara A. Knoll De Moss
Barbara A. (Kammer) DeMoss, age 75 of Highland passed away peacefully at home, Monday, November 11, 2013. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her beloved three children: Donald G. Kammer (girlfriend Linda) of Crown Point, Mary J. (Matt) Schafer of Highland, and Keith A. (Margaret) Kammer of Beaumont, CA; stepchildren: Debbie (Paul) Allen of AZ, Elizabeth (Brian) Hawkins of Kokomo, Denise (Paul) Hartwell of Rensselaer and Linda Klahn of Rensselaer; 26 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters: Nancy (Richard) Wozniak of Bradenton, FL and Edith (Robert) Pries of Boliver, MO; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. DeMoss was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Russell F. DeMoss; former husband and father of her children, Norman J. Kammer; son, Norman E. Kammer; stepson, Robert D. DeMoss; great granddaughters: Leila M. and Leona L. Filic; and parents: Alfred and Josephine (Boudreau) Knoll. Barbara worked as a waitress for over 13 years at Miner Dunn Restaurant before retiring to stay home to help take care of her grandchildren. Barbara was a charter member of the Women of the Moose Chapter #1603 receiving the College of Regents Degree in 1987 and Star Recorder Degree in 1992. Barbara enjoyed playing bingo, camping, fishing and spending time with her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 9640 Kennedy Ave., Highland, IN with Rev. Keith Virus officiating. Barbara will lie in state at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. At rest, Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave. (one-half mile south of US 30), Schererville, IN. A Women of the Moose memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
