Robert F. “Bob” Shull, 88, of Fort Wayne, passed away on August 16, 2014. Born on November 13, 1925, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Frederick C. and Elizabeth (Snyder) Shull. He was a member of Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church, the Fort Wayne Turners, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW. Robert proudly served his country during WWII in the Navy, also in the Korean War in the Marine Corps and retired in 1987 from Industrial Piping. Bob loved fishing, golf, bowling, hunting, traveling, being outdoors and having fun spending time with his family and an amazing circle of friends.
He is survived by his children, Yvonne Ducy, of Carmel and Michael Shull, of Fort Wayne; Grandson, Paxton Ducy, of Carmel; and sister, Dorothy (Harold) Hoover, of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, of 57 years, Virginia “Ginny” L. Shull, in 2013; and sister, Wanda Smock.
Funeral service will be 11 am, Thursday August 21, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm, Wednesday August 20, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to the Fort Wayne Turners
