James W. Fairfield, 87, of Fort Wayne, met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 25, 2017. Born on August 11, 1930, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late, William and Dorothy (Honeick) Fairfield. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, and a life member of many Numismatic Organizations. He worked as a salesman for National Mill Supply before opening Fairfield Rare Coins in 1970. He worked there until his passing. He was a respected and loving family man.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen I. Fairfield; daughters, Dottie (Dave) Enters, Elizabeth (Eric) Pankow, Linda (Brian) Grys, Barbie (Matthew) Hall and Jennifer (Mike) Messmann; sons, Jim (Chris) Fairfield and Bill (Lori) Fairfield; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandsons. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Delores Michels; and grandson, Miles C. Bleke.
Funeral service will be 11am, Monday, August 28, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 4245 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior to service. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Concordia Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne or Eyewitness for Life.
