James A. Harrell, Jr.

James A. Harrell, Jr., 89, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Virginia. Jim was born December 6, 1927 in Norfolk, Virginia. Jim served in the Army in WWII with the 127th Airborne Division as a Parachutist in Sendai, Japan. After the war, Jim met his beautiful bride, Marjorie Ann, and the two were married April 18, 1953 in Norfolk, Virginia. Jim began a long career with Norfolk Southern and retired in 1987, after 39 years of service. Marge and Jim spent their retirement in Virginia Beach. After his beloved wife Marge passed in 2015, Jim moved to Winchester, Virginia. Jim is survived by his son Steve and daughter-in-law Debbie of Winchester, Virginia, along with his grandson Joey of O'Fallon, Missouri. Along with his wife Marge, Jim was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers. The family will greet friends and family from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, Virginia Beach, VA. Graveside service will be at Rosewood Memorial Park on Thursday, October 19th at 2:00 pm.
