Jeanne Hunter Carter entered Heaven on November 14, 2017. Born in Madison, West Virginia in 1931, she lived in Maine, Florida, Libya, and Germany as a proud Air Force wife and mother before settling with her family in Sandston in 1962. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Dean Carter; and is survived by her four daughters, Connie Bethel, Cindy Hicks (Ira), Camille Austin (Ed) and Cheri Carter; six grandchildren, Jeremy Bethel, Michael Austin (fiancee, Nicole), Melissa Bethel, Brandon Austin (Trish), Hunter Austin (Melia) and Carlie Carter; seven great-grandchildren, Nicolas Bethel, Cassidy Bethel, Carter Austin, Ahvni Austin, Maverick Austin, Madison Austin and Emersyn Austin; cherished friends, Jearline Bruce and Marie Austin; and beloved cat, Missy. Jeanne will be most remembered for how much she loved her family, traveling with her daughters to the Outer Banks each year, and for the overwhelming kindness she showed to everyone she met. A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bon Secours Hospice. Online condolences may be conveyed at nelsenrichmond.com.
