Eleanor Burbank Howe

Eleanor Burbank Howe, 97, of Sandston, passed away on January 12, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Bernard Howe Sr.; brother, Leon Everett Burbank; and daughter-in-law, Sarah L. Howe. She graduated from Maine School of Commerce in Portland, Maine, and was an executive secretary for Reynolds Metals Director of Safety. She was assistant clerk of the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, as well as a medical secretary in the Richmond Orthopedic Clinic and a member of the Sandston Presbyterian Women of the Church. She was a member of the Friends of the Sandston Library, as well as a member and past president of the Sandston Women's Club. Mrs. Howe was also a member and secretary of the Richmond Orchid Society. Mrs. Howe is survived by her daughter, Cheramy Howe Farina (Joseph); son, Donald B. Howe, Jr.; and daughter; Donna-Beth Howe, Ph.D; grandchildren, Benjamin A. Farina, Gabrielle F. Parton (Anthony); great-grandchildren, Jacob Parton, Hannah Parton, and Jack Mefford; and sister, Marilyn Ayer of Fort Pierce, Florida. The family wishes to thank the caring neighbors, Eddie, Jake, Michael, Mary, Carla, Chris, and Mark, and would also like to give special thanks to Dr. Leanne Yanni and her Bon Secours In Home Care Staff (Nichola and Kelli). The family is also grateful for the love and support of the Care Advantage Staff (Diane, Mary, Andrea, Cherry, Lisa B., Lisa C., and Doris). The family also appreciates the support and help of the Bon Secours In Home Hospice Care nurses (Mary, Carolyn, Sarone, Vikki, and Lisa).
