Obituary of Bernice Ross
Bernice Ross, 72, of Connersville, died Monday, March 5, 2018 at Premier Healthcare, East. Bernice was born November 30, 1945 in Richmond, Kentucky to Raymond and Ruby Reece Marcum. She received salvation at Youth Haven Bible Camp and graduated from Lee County High School in 1963. On May 27, 1963 she married Paul C. Ross, who died June 22, 2007. Bernice retired from Philco Ford in the 1970s. She was very creative and showcased her skills painting oil landscapes. Bernice found pleasure in making jelly and canning; especially green beans and tomato juice. Bernice was known for her peanut brittle and the Southern Hospitality she consistently provided for her family and friends. She will be remembered as the “world’s sweetest lady.” Bernice is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Pam Burk and Tom of Connersville; Paula Belknap and Art of Fairfield, Ohio; her four grandchildren whom she absolutely adored: Tommy Ross Burk, Sarah Nicole Burk, Nicholas Paul Belknap and Patrick Allen Belknap and; her special friend: Calvin Byrd of Connersville; her sister and brother-in-law: Linda Spencer and Troy of Connersville; beloved nephew: Tony Spencer; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by her brother: Kenny Marcum, her infant grandson: Michael Allen Belknap and her son-in-law: Christopher Murray. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday , March 8, 2018 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Pastor Joe Ferreira of Connersville Baptist Temple, officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday from 11 until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to Centerstone of Connersville.
