Alta Marie Brown (nee Nelson) LANSING, IL Alta M. Brown died May 2nd, 2018. She was born January 24th, 1931, in Bertha Minnesota to Carl and Florence Nelson (deceased). She married Robert H. Brown on August 23rd, 1958 who preceded her in death by only 5 days. Survived by sons: James M. Brown (Schatzy) Dyer, IN, Charles Brown (Christine) Lansing, IL, and daughter: Dawn Derbigny Villa Park, IL. Grandchildren: Michael Brown (Laura), Allen Brown (Carla), Julie (Brown) Bryner, Kyle Brown, Chay Derbigny (Leyna), and Samantha Derbigny. Great Grandchildren: Noah Brown, Shayne Brown, Christopher Brown, Dakota Myers, Brantley Derbigny, and Edith (Edy) Brown. She is preceded in death by son, Thomas Brown (Linda), brother, Lyle Nelson (Rosemary), and sisters, Leatrice Samuelson (Stanley) and Marlys Ruthkay (William). As a lifelong Cubs fan she was so happy to witness them win the World Series before she passed. She was a loving wife and mother who, in turn, was loved by all who knew her. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2018 DIRECTLY at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN (please meet in main cemetery entrance off of Cline Ave. in circle at 10:45 a.m.).
