John Robert Nottingham

John Robert Nottingham, 72, of Poseyville, Indiana, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, at Linda White Hospice Center. He was born April 20, 1946, in Gibson County, Indiana to the late Dellas Raymond and Evelyn Elizabeth (Almon) Nottingham.
John graduated from North Posey High School in 1964. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Poseyville and a life-long sports enthusiast. Throughout the 80’s and early 90’s, he was director and coach of the Biddy Basketball Program at the Salvation Army in Evansville, Indiana. During their involvement in the program he and Mickey made many long-time friends. John enjoyed traveling and never met a stranger. His grandchildren and their activities were his passion during the last 23 years of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother, Charles Nottingham and brother-in-law, Don Straw.
John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mickey (Travers) Nottingham; three sons, Thomas A. Nottingham, Scott R. Nottingham (Lori) and Andy W. Nottingham; five grandchildren, Brittaney, Tyler, Brooke, Nettie and Beau Nottingham; sister, Nancy Straw; brother, Steven Nottingham (Maggie) and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 PM Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 46 S. Cale Street, Poseyville, IN, officiated by Pastor David Warren, with burial in Poseyville Cemetery. Friends visited Tuesday from 11:00 AM until service time at the church.
