IN THE CARE OF
Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park
Margratha "Mickey" Turlington passed in peace Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the young age of 86 after a short battle with cancer. Mickey was a native of Wilmington, North Carolina but resided in Hampton for more than 70 years. She loved doing yard work and prided herself for having the prettiest yard in her neighborhood. Her next favorite thing to do was to be a greeter at her church, First Church Ministries in Newport News. As owner/operator of Tidemill Private School she was lovingly known as "Miss Mickey" by the numerous children she taught.
Mickey was preceded in death by her loving husband Tommy. Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Patty, Tommy, Dee and Scott, along with nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral service will held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 9, 2018 in the funeral home chapel. After the interment, the family and friends will gather at First Church Ministries for refreshments.
Donations may be made to First Church Ministries, 410 Flannery O'Conner Street, Newport News, Virginia 23606 or Sentara Hospice of Chesapeake.
Friends are encouraged to visit www.parklawn-woodfh.com to share memories and words of condolence with the family.
