Shawn David Darby

Shawn David Darby, 46, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018. He was born June 7, 1971 to Joe and Ruby Darby. He was a 1989 graduate of Boonville High School, where he played varsity football and baseball all 4 years. He went on to attend the University of Southern Indiana, majoring in business management. Shawn loved sports and never missed a Cowboy’s or Colt’s game. He was also an avid bowler and bowled a perfect 300 twice in a row. Shawn is survived by two daughters, Megan and Kiersten Darby of Boonville; son, Daniel Darby of Newburgh; mother, Ruby Darby of Newburgh; sisters, Carrie Darby of Evansville and Michelle Embry and her husband, Robert, of Newburgh; grandchildren, Jonah, Alanah and Rosalie, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Darby; and son, Jesse Darby. A Funeral Service will be 12:00PM, Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Pastor Gary L. Meredith, Sr. and Davy White, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 10:00AM to service time, Thursday at the funeral home.
