Janice Schiff, 89, of Newburgh, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Westriver Health Campus. She was born July 16, 1929 in Lafayette, IN to the late Albert and Josephine (Thise) Cyr.
She grew up on a farm in Fowler, IN. Janice was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was employed at the Evansville State Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital as a nurse’s aide. Her life revolved around her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed nurturing them with her home cooked meals.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, James Schiff; sisters, Beverly McClatchey, Patricia Cyr and Jackie O’Connor, and brother, William Cyr.
She is survived by children Kim Schiff (Cathy), Debra Kiesel (Rick), C.B. Schiff (Christi), Donald Schiff, Joe Schiff (Amy), Rod Schiff (Kathy) and Jaime Quirk (Brett); 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Beatrice Wagner, Carol Spahr and Sharon Boroski and her beloved dog, Buffie.
Friends may visit 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Road, Newburgh, Indiana, with a Funeral Mass to follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Church or the Warrick County Humane Society.
