David Blastick

David Blastick Sr. age 65, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Susan (nee Voss) Blastick; son, David Blastick Jr.; granddaughter, Emily Jean Blastick; brothers, Gerald (Bonnie) Blastick and Thomas Blastick; sister, Debbie (Bob) Swintz; nieces and nephews, Danny, Timmy, Joey, Brian, Kathleen, Jacob, Luke, Abigail, Jimmy, Michael, Tom Jr., Ryan, Joe, Kim, Brian, Nick, Katie, Chrissy, Matt and Hope. Preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Blastick and nephew, Eric Voss. Dave was born February 2, 1953 in East Chicago, IN to the late Gerald and Esther Blastick and was a 1971 graduate of Lake Central High School. On June 16, 1973, he married the love of his life, Susan Voss and together they raised two sons. Until his illness, Dave worked for Austin Industrial and for multiple contractors within the oil refinery profession. When he was healthy he was an avid golfer and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Toward the end of his journey, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs Beau and Buddha. David was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Pastor James Williams officiating. Interment to be held privately by the family. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
