Donald "Don" Fisher,68, of Fort Wayne passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Don was born in 1950 in South Bend, Indiana. He was a son of the late Donald W. Fisher, Sr. and Vivian (Page) Fisher. He graduated from John Carroll University with a Bachelor of History and went on to receive a Masters of Library Science from Indiana University. He worked as reference librarian at the Bartholomew County library in Columbus, Indiana. He went on to become the manager of the Waynedale branch of the Allen County Public Library retiring in 2016. Don was an avid reader and beer connoisseur who enjoyed riding his bicycle and was very much a family man. He is survived by Jeannie (Kintz) Fisher, his wife of 45 years; his three children, Simon (Bonnie) Fisher, Jesse (Kathryn) Fisher, and Martha (Matthew Bassett) Fisher. His seven grandchildren, Stella, Akasha, Olivia, Ruby, Waylon, Arlo, and Emmit. Additionally, he leaves behind his four siblings, Elizabeth (Kirk) Pagenkopf, Christopher (Trina) Fisher, Margaret Fisher, and Alan (Sandy) Fisher. His nine nieces and nephews, and his entire family of in-laws. He will be truly, and profoundly missed by all of them. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Rd., Fort Wayne. A gathering of friends and family will be 5-8 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., Fort Wayne. In accordance with Don's Spirit, memorials may be made to either St. Therese Catholic Church or that of donor’s choice in lieu of flowers.
