Donald R. Harris, of Evansville, IN passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. He was born in Princeton, IN, on February 5, 1940 to the late Harold R. Harris and Rose Serene Krietemeyer.
Don served in the U.S. Navy as a Submariner for 9 years. He attended Turning Point Church. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1958. Don loved to hunt, fish for catfish, attend local car shows and cruise ins, and was an avid clabber player.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Judith Harris; step-father, Louie Krietemeyer; and sister, Shirley Osborne.
Don is survived by his son, Michael Harris; daughter, Linda Duckworth (Jerry); sons, Jeffery Harris and Scott Harris (Lori); grandchildren, Jeri Lynn and Jesse Duckworth, Elizabeth and Matthew Harris; step-granddaughters, Marnel and Christina; multiple great-grandchildren; long-term companion, Linda Johnston.
A Celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Alexander West Chapel. Friends may visit 12 p.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
