Edna Gray Jones Corns of 1201 Spruce Street, Martinsville, VA went to be with her Lord on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC.
She was born December 19, 1940, in Axton, VA to the late Everett Davis and Bessie Gertrude Waldron Jones.
Mrs. Corns was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Charles McDaniel Corns, and a sister, Sandra Sexton. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Ridgeway, Va.
She leaves six daughters to mourn her passing; Mary Ann Witt (Rodney) of Spencer, Edna Darlene Turner of Roanoke, Lisa Marie Gonzalez of Houston, TX, Jennifer Lynne Ludlum (Ken) of Asheboro, NC, Patricia Sue Comire of Martinsville, and Kimberly Dawn Kadid (Tarik) of Savannah, GA; a son, David Charles Corns (Aleana) of Ridgeway;
eight grandchildren, Rodney Dean Witt, II, Sarah Louise Witt, Charles Antonio Gonzalez, Caitlyn Marie Gonzalez, Christi Nicole Brown, Nicholas Scot Stewart, (Alex), Michael Tyler Burton and Benjamin Donald Comire; four great-grandsons, Jude Alexander DeLapp, Witten Dean Cole Oakes, Taylen Davis and Melekh Davis; and great-granddaughter Madi Bartley; one sister, Nettie Mae Jones of Martinsville; and her dear friend, Mary Gilbert, also of Martinsville.
Momma enjoyed crocheting gifts for family and friends. She also loved her church family and to sing in the choir. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and a social butterfly who never met a stranger.
The funeral service will be held at Grace Baptist Church, Ridgeway, VA on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Wingate officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville, VA.
McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville, is arranging the services.
