Marleen Kay Ames

Marleen Kay Ames, 83, of Fillmore, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
She was born August 18, 1936 in Greencastle, the daughter of Morris “Harry” and Gladys (Keller) Tharp and was a graduate of Fillmore High School “Class of 1954”
Marleen was a farm wife and homemaker. She had also worked as a secretary with the Indiana Boys School in Plainfield.
She was a member of the Fillmore United Methodist Church and the Club 16 Homemakers Club.
Marleen is survived by her husband, Kenneth “Kenny” Ames; sons, Kerry (Corliss) Ames, Kim (Gina) Ames, and Kent (Karen) Ames; a daughter, Lisa (Jerry) Long; eight grandchildren, Kyle (Melissa) Ames, Kole (Brandy) Ames, Hannah (Garrett) Brooks, Ethan Ames, Ashley Ames, Michael (Lori) McCammack, Gabrielle McCammack, and Luke Ames; 14 great grandchildren; and sister-in-laws, Gail Tharp and Carolyn Parker.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Tharp DDS.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Fillmore United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the Fillmore Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM on Saturday until time of service at the church.
