Thelma E. Smith

Thelma Esther Smith, of Highland, Indiana passed on to glory Thursday, November 14th 2019 at the age of 92 with family by her side. Thelma was born and raised in Chicago. Thelma, or as dad called her Thel or Dit, had a rich and full life enjoying time with family during holidays and family celebrations, simple vacations at the cottage on Little Long Lake in Wisconsin and wonderful trips across the US and abroad with Richard. She also enjoyed square dancing, was a voracious reader and loved to sew. She is survived by two children, Diane (Doug) Ward of Lowell Indiana and David (Sharon) Smith of Rockford Illinois; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard; two sons, Bruce (Rose) Smith and Clifford Smith. Services for Thelma will be held at Kuiper Funeral Home in Highland, Indiana on Friday, November, 22nd – visitation is from 9-11am with the formal service beginning at 11am. Cremation to follow.
