Robert Arthur Egbert, 73, of Fredericksburg, Virginia passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019 with his daughter, Laurie by his side.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Laurie Egbert and Crissy Karnes (Jeremy); his step children Amy Wratchford (Ashby) and Richard Bennett.
He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Christopher, Keith, Kurt, Maggie, Greta, Jane and Owen.
Bob is preceded in death by his loving wife, Debbie Fulton Egbert. They are dancing together again.
He is also preceded in death by his son, David Robert Egbert and his parents, Arthur Egbert and Doris Olsen.
Mr. Egbert is described as being a kind, warm, compassionate, patient, loving, accepting, loyal, generous, indomitable, and caring man. Bob loved dancing, fishing, boating and his family.
He is an Air Force Vietnam Veteran and had a true entrepreneurial spirit with a keen eye toward his next business adventures. He derived great enjoyment in building and managing his e-commerce sites.
Bob designed an extensive woodshop, designing and building furniture, marquetry, creating "how to" videos on YouTube, and creating many other pieces for his family to use in everyday life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bob Egbert's name to a local Makerspace in order to pay homage to his love of tools, machinery, woodworking, and sharing of ideas and craftsmanship. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm on Saturday November 23, 2019 at Brock’s Riverside Grill, downtown Fredericksburg. Military Honors will be held at 2:30pm.
