Galen Gene Gerichs

Galen Gene Gerichs, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020. He was born on December 27, 1960 to his parents, Theodore and Lillian Gerichs, Jr. Galen was a lifetime member of Salem Church of Darmstadt. He was a faithful volunteer at the YMCA for almost 20 years. From the time he was 14 years old, he spent a lot of time at Ron Korff’s barber shop cleaning and he was the ”Boss”. He loved going to Disney World and traveled to many states. The highlight of his life was going on the Honor Flight with his dad. Galen was preceded in death by his grandparents, Theodore and Helen Gerichs and Henry and Sadie Meier. He is survived by his parents, Theodore and Lillian Gerichs, Jr.; aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Salem Church of Darmstadt, officiated by Pastor David Peterson and Pastor Gordon Jones. Burial will follow in Salem Church of Darmstadt Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Alexander North Chapel. Visitation on Thursday will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Church of Darmstadt.
