Charles “Chuck” William Dent Sr., a resident of Crystal City Arlington, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on March 13, 2020, surrounded by his family. He was 61 years old. The son of Russell Paul Dent and Thelma Nadine Dye, Chuck was born on July 23, 1958, in Harrison County, West Virginia. He attended the schools in Harrison County and graduated from Washington Irving High School in Clarksburg, WV. He went on to attend some classes at WVU. Chuck was preceded in death by his two brothers, Russell Dent and Ronnie Dent. Surviving to cherish his memory are his soulmate and best friend, wife Debbie Dent of Arlington, Virginia; his sister, Carroll Rawlings of Alexandria, Virginia; his children, Charles (C.W) William Dent Jr., Christopher (and wife Mandy) Dent, Sarah Dent, and Samantha Dent of Clarksburg, West Virginia; Melissa (and husband Brent) Thompson of Morganton, North Carolina; Ronnie Reed and his son, Cory Reed of Elkins, West Virginia; Jessica Pifer of Arlington, Virginia; Danny (and wife Amber) Reed of Bridgeport, West Virginia; four other grandchildren, Alyssa, Hayden, Sean and Tommy Dent of Bridgeport, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews, and so many friends whose lives he touched. Chuck worked for Gates Hudson as the maintenance supervisor at Crystal Plaza, a job he took great pride in, with a team and work-family that meant so much to him. Chuck loved to fish and go camping and was so looking forward to retiring to the mountains in West Virginia. He was an avid Washington Nationals fan and attended games as often as he could, including watching his Nats win the World Series. He enjoyed giving politicians a piece of his mind on Twitter, watching scary movies and shows, cheering on WVU football, and putting all other men to shame when it came to how he treated his wife. Due to the current state of affairs surrounding COVID-19, a memorial and celebration of life will now be held at a later date.
