Bernard "Buncie" Leslie Colgin, Jr.

COLGIN, Bernard “Buncie” Leslie, Jr., 96, of Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.
Buncie was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Clark Colgin; his parents, Mattie and Bernard Colgin, Sr.; and his brother, Alton Colgin. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Colgin, his children, Rick Colgin and Sandra Wilson (Tony); His step-children, John Massie(Alice), Marianne Slavic, James Massie(Mary), Suzanne Blackburn(Todd), 12 grandchildren, especially Jennifer Lowe and Angie Fidger and 15 great-grandchildren (one deceased).
Buncie served in the Army during WW II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired after a long career at DuPont as an Electrical Supervisor. He was a long-standing member of Carlisle Baptist Church, the Thomas N. Davis and Varina Masonic Lodges, the Eastern Star Chapter 176, and the Scottish Rite, among others.
His love for playing baseball and softball was unparalleled. He was inducted into the Virginia Softball Hall Of Fame, and continued to play softball into his eighties. Buncie was a wonderful role model to his children and others, and will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
