Betty J. Fross

Betty J. Fross, nee Rogers, age 84, reunited with her beloved husband Gerald “Red” Fross on Friday, May 15, 2020. Loving mother to her sons, Michael (Gayle), James (Shayna); cherished Yiayia of Madeline, Brynna Riese Melcher, Hunter Riese; great Yiayia of Aubrie and Rowan Melcher; dear sister of the late Pete (late Ellen) Rogers, George (Pat) Rogers; fond aunt of many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Betty was born on December 30, 1935 to the late John and Mary Rogers and was raised in Highland, Indiana, attending Griffith High School. Betty worked at Standard Oil until her sons were born, and then Community Hospital in Munster for many years where she made lifelong friends. She treasured time with her family, a nice Greek meal and watching Hallmark movie marathons. She baked the most delicious baklava, apple pie, chex mix (secret ingredient pecans) and anything with Jell-O. The family will miss her waiting for us in the garage whenever we would visit. We take comfort in the fact that she is now with Red on the back of his motorcycle. Betty will be truly missed by all whose lives she touched. Due to the current conditions of Covid-19, services and burial will be held privately by the family. Betty will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens in Crown Point, Indiana.
