Obituary of Geneva "Sis" Louise Taylor
Geneva Louise Taylor, of Whitehall, affectionately known as “Sis”, age 88, passed away Saturday (06/20/2020) at I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital. Born July 3, 1931 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Jesse and Lorena (Grubb) Deckard. Geneva retired in 1988 from R.C.A. after 40 years of service where she was an inspector for 40 years. She had also been involved with the Secret R.C.A. project during W.W. II. She briefly took time away from work to move with her husband while he was in the U.S. Army. They lived in Texas, New Jersey and California before moving back to Bloomington. Geneva was a member of the Central Wesleyan Church and the I.B.E.W. Geneva is survived by her loving daughter, Debora Taylor, of Bloomington; grandson, Travis (Jane) McHaley, of Bloomington and two great-grandsons, Joseph Jerry Travis McHaley and Matthew Louis Taylor McHaley. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 69 years and to whom she married on July 3, 1950, Joe Taylor, on July 13, 2019, one brother, Paul Edwin Deckard and her little maltese, Dayce. The funeral service will be on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Alzheimers Association.
