James Dudley Foulke

James Dudley Foulke, 87, of Columbus, IN, died July 14, 2020 at home surrounded by his two daughters and devoted Hospice nurse, Jessica. Jim was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 22, 1932 the son of the late Harlan and Hester Foulke. Jim attended Columbus High School and graduated from Indiana University in 1954. He married Janet Gwin on Nov 26, 1955. Following college, Jim served in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant, was a proud veteran, and always made a point to thank anyone in uniform for their service. He spent 32 years in sales working for both Cosco, Inc. and Arvin Industries before retiring in 1988. In addition, he served on various boards in the community and in business. Jim was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church. Those close to Jim knew he was an avid IU sports fan, a fervent supporter of Columbus North athletics, and a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Janet Gwin Foulke, brother Doug Foulke and his parents. Survivors include daughters Julie (Gary) Pruitt of Columbus, In and Jennifer (Bob) Hicks of Zionsville, IN. Grandchildren, Carly (Kayla) Pruitt, Jenna Pruitt, Robert (Rachel) Hicks, Margaret Hicks and Charlie Hicks. Due to the current health crisis impacting the country, the immediate family will be having a private service to honor Jim’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to First United Methodist Church or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
