Obituary of Judith M. (Hahn) Wolfe
"Not all those who wander are lost." Judith M. (nee Hahn) Wolfe passed away in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Monday, November 9, 2020, after a brief illness. Born in Norfolk, Virginia on March 16, 1944, she was a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Willard J. Hahn. Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, LTC John R. Wolfe, and her parents, Willard J. Hahn (Bill) and Lorayne M. Hahn (Miller). She is survived by her son, John Wolfe of Cartersville, Georgia; daughter, Jennifer Wolfe of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and three grandchildren, Abby Wolfe, Emma Wolfe, and Ethan Wolfe, all from Cartersville, Georgia. Judy also leaves behind her sisters, Chickie Hill (Arnold) of Macon Georgia, Gayle Knittel (Dale) of Woodstock Georgia; and close cousin “like a sister” Nancy Obrzut (Rich) of Joliet Illinois; as well as many dear-to-her-heart nieces and nephews. In her early years after graduating from Lawton High School, Judy obtained a degree from Dental Hygienist School in Elkhart, Indiana. She was also crowned Miss Marcellus at the Bluegill Frolic in Marcellus, Michigan. Judy was a true, dedicated military wife. She traveled and lived in many places, including California, Kansas, Michigan, Georgia, Germany, Virginia, and Indiana. While there, she met and made so many lasting friendships with whom she kept in touch and shared so many wonderful memories together. She ultimately settled in Indiana and worked for ITT as Manager of Export Compliance. She worked with the Department of State to get licenses for equipment and arrange for overseas manufacturing. Judy was a determined go-getter in her field, an admired mentor, and did very well all aspects of her job. She was involved in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation where she led volunteers for the annual fundraiser. Judy often took on a leadership role in whatever she did. She was successful at getting donations for the annual raffle. She was involved in bowling and golf leagues. As an avid golfer, Judy participated with her team in the yearly Vera Bradley Golf Tournament for Breast Cancer. Judy lived her life to the fullest in all that she did. She loved being with her family at their family camp RAZAHABA in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She enjoyed the outdoors whether it was boating, fishing, four wheeling, or just poking the fire. Judy never met a Casino she didn’t like. She loved her mountain trips to Gatlinburg with her friends from Georgia. One of Judy’s favorite sayings was “Not all those who wander are lost.” She traveled to see family and friends near and far, never lost, just simply loved by all. A celebration of Judy's life will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home (6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne), with a visitation of family and friends beginning at 11:00am, one hour prior to the service. A second reception to honor Judy will be Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 1:00pm at the VFW Post 4054, 53550 M-40, Marcellus, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Judy's honor may be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at https://www.cff.org
