IN THE CARE OF
Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home
Our beloved, Lois Annette Swihart, 86, of Ossian, was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. She was born March 9, 1934 in Loveland, CO, daughter of the late Edward C. and Merle L. (Stuart) Tobias. Lois had previously worked as a bookkeeper at Kresge Warehouse, a nurse’s aide at Meadowvale Nursing Home, and also cared for many families’ children through the years. Lois never met a stranger, befriending all who crossed her path. She loved to teach the Word of God through many church activities. Lois is survived by her children Daniel (Teresita) E. Swihart of Hummelstown, PA and Sonja (Ray) Burniston of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Joyce White of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Jared (Shelly) Swihart, Christopher Swihart, Amanda (Tyler) Fager, and Adam (Emily) Burniston; and great grandchildren, Emily and Ethan Swihart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Swihart; sister, Johannah Webster; brothers, James Tobias, Stanley Tobias, and Paul Tobias; a special aunt and uncle who raised her, Margaret and Frank Earl; and a very special friend, Bill Dunn. There will be a Celebration of Life service at a future time. Memorials to honor Lois may be made to Gideon's International, First Baptist Church of Ossian, or Zanesville Community Church of God. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.elzey-patterson-rodak.com for the Swihart family.
