Donald Edward Misner, 87, of Columbus passed away Monday, December 28, 2020, at his home.
He was born September 2, 1933 in Garden City, the son of Lawrence and Mary Blanche Stringer Misner. He married Shirley A. Dunavent December 7, 1956 in Greensburg.
He was an electrician for Lovelace Electric and retired from Sap’s as an electrician. He was a member of the Columbus American Legion and VFW. He was a veteran of the US Air force serving during the Korean Conflict. He loved to do yard work and could build just about anything. His grandchildren gave him special joy.
He is survived by his wife Shirley A. Misner of Columbus; daughter, Mary A. Hargitt of Columbus; son, James Edward (Karen) Misner of Greensburg; brother, Raymond Dale Misner of Westport; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael L. Misner; 1 grandchild; 1 great grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Bear Creek Cemetery in Jennings County with John Hundley officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Columbus Area Veterans Honor Guard. In keeping with CDC and Indiana guidelines, social distancing must be followed and masks are required.
