Louise M. Shelburne

Louise McGuire Shelburne, 98, of Martinsville, Va. passed away Monday, January 4, 2021. She was born November 22, 1922 to Luther E. McGuire and Carrie Cook McGuire. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Raymond Shelburne; sisters, Igie Dubois, Maggie Harris, and Ocie Weatherford; and brother Alfred McGuire She is survived by her daughter, Susan Shelburne Simmons and her husband Carroll Simmons; son, Charles Shelburne, Jr. and his wife Janet Newkirk Shelburne; grandchildren, Rita Simmons Scott and her husband Jon Scott, Elizabeth Shelburne Cessna and her husband Scott Cessna, Carrie Shelburne and her husband Chad Thornton, and Jessica Shelburne; great grandchildren, Amber Scott, Meredith Thornton, Charlotte Thornton, Holland Thornton, Ellis Thornton, Bristol Kate Cessna, Aubrey Cessna and Tristan Cessna. Mrs. Shelburne worked at Dupont during her earlier years and later was a home maker. She and her husband were a founding members of Calvary Christian Church. She loved gardening in her flowers and made arrangements for her church for over 40 years. All services will be private due to COVID 19.
