Obituary of Gayle Gregory Clark
Gayle Gregory Clark, 73, stepped into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ today, surrounded by her family at home. She is survived by her husband of 55 plus years, Stacy Clark; four daughters, Joy Bowles (Gerald), Kristi Schmincke (Dale), Valerie Wall (Scott) and Brenda Smith (Alex); ten grandchildren, Josh, Caleb, Olivia, Ethan, Jacob, Brody, Haley, Blair, Savannah and Sullivan; two great grandchildren, Bryson and Marlee and her aunt, Violet Wilbur. She was born to the late Frank and Margaret Gregory. Gayle worked as a magistrate in the 24th district for many years, then worked at Liberty University and Centra Health until dementia made it impossible for her to work any longer. A longtime member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, Gayle loved singing in the choir and attending the Ladies Bible Study with her dear friend Carolyn Tinsley. Gayle loved going on Royal Caribbean cruises and going to Myrtle Beach or just riding in the car on a warm day. We would like to thank Centra Hospice and all of the great hospice nurses, Lindsey, Ellen, Sheila and all of the rest of the hospice girls for all of their help during this difficult time in our life. We also thank the wonderful staff at the Carrington for their care during Gayle’s time there. A memorial service celebrating Gayle's life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Pate Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Honey, you will forever be in our hearts. We love You! See you soon. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Gayle’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org. To send condolences online, please visit www.whittentimberlake.com.
