Joe Anthony Perez, 78, passed away on April 23, 2026. Born on July 31, 1947, Joe was the youngest of seven children, a place in the family that he carried with quiet strength and steady purpose throughout his life.
A resident of Pasadena, Texas, he will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew him.
Joe served his country as a veteran of the United States Army in Vietnam, meeting that chapter of his life with courage and resolve. He was also a former member of the American Legion Post 521 in Pasadena, TX, where his loyalty to fellow service members reflected a life marked by generosity, thoughtfulness, and a willingness to put others before himself. His guidance was often felt in calm, measured ways—through a steady presence, sound judgment, and the kind of wisdom that comes from living with integrity.
Away from duty and responsibility, Joe’s spirit shone through in the simple joys he loved most. He was a die-hard sports fan, especially of WWE, the Texans, the Astros, and all Houston sports teams. In those moments—rooting hard, following every season, and staying true to his teams—those closest to him saw the warmth of his heart and the enduring enthusiasm that made time with him memorable.
Joe is survived by his son, Alex Wayne Perez and wife Brittany; his grandson, Bentley Perez; his granddaughter, Kinsley Perez; his brother, Robert Perez; his sisters, Beatrice Houeye, Annie Gonzales, and Doris Charles; and many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Demencia (Flores) Perez; and his brothers, Alex Perez, Jr and Esequio Perez.
Joe will be remembered as a hard-working, kind-hearted, and deeply beloved man—brave in the face of life’s demands, selfless in the way he cared for others, and thoughtful in the way he carried himself. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friends who valued him, and the many lives made better by his steady, faithful presence.
