Patricia Lynn Wood

Patricia Lynn Wood, 68, of Indianapolis, Indiana peacefully went home to the Lord on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 with her kids by her side. Patricia was born on October 31, 1952 in Grove City, Pennsylvania to the late Lois (Allen) and Robert F. Cornelius. Patricia moved away from her hometown of Grove City at a young age, and settled in Muncie, Indiana for the remainder of her childhood. She attended Muncie Central High School where she was an avid swimmer and cheerleader. She graduated in 1971. Once out of school, Patricia began her career with Boehringer Mannheim working as a production scheduler for many years. She left her position there to begin the most important career she had ever had; motherhood. Patricia raised 2 children with her, now former, husband Robert. Her friends and family would describe her as having a heart of gold. She would help others in any way that she could, many times it would be to offer a prayer for those in need. Patricia was a devoted Christian, she lived her life serving the Lord and spreading his message no matter where she was. She leaves behind a family that loved her more than anything, her children; Kelly Wood (Taylor Hatfield), and Jeremy Wood, her grandchildren; Mackenzie Wood, Ava King, and Roger Hatfield, her nieces; Tami Powell (Cedric), Kristi Segall (Brian), and her nephew; Jason Cornelius (Jessica). Also surviving is her companion of 24 years; Gerhard Jorgensen and her former husband; Robert Wood. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her brother; Robert W. Cornelius and her sister; Joyce Beymer. A visitation for Patricia will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Leppert Mortuaries – Nora, 740 East 86th St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM.
