Mark Lopez Thompson

On May 8, 2019, Mark Lopez Thompson (aka “Marker”) made his voyage into the Force. Mark passed away peacefully in his Houston home with his mother and niece by his side. Mark is survived by his daughter Faith, mother Bobbie, his brothers Alan, Rene, and Fabian, sisters Kelly, Melinda, and Marcia, as well as his many nieces and nephews. At five months old, Mark joined the Thompson family and was a welcomed addition. His parents, Tom and Bobbie, felt privileged to raise him as their own. Mark had a passion for cooking and creating new dishes. He was an avid fan of Star Wars and loved to play video games. He adored and spoiled his cat Newt, who had his very own bedroom equipped with a luxury cat tower. Mark was a dedicated student and was inducted into the Honor Society while earning his Associates Degree. He had been in his senior year of college at Texas Tech. His hope after graduating was to work with people with special needs. Family and friends gathered and celebrated Mark's life, during a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors in Houston, Texas.
