Obituary of Kate (Zehr) Raben
Kate (Zehr) Raben, 38, of Newburgh, IN passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. She was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on November 15, 1980, to Gary and Linda Zehr. She was a Radiology Technologist in the Peripheral Vascular Lab at St. Vincent Hospital for 17 years. Kate lived for her children. They were her world. Kate enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, planting flowers, the outdoors, and having a beautiful lawn. More than anything, she enjoyed watching her kids play sports. Kate is survived by her husband of 6 years, Nick Raben; sons, Dax (13), Finn (6) and Leo (2); daughter, Mae (5); parents, Gary and Linda Zehr; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Clara Raben; brother, Brandon Zehr (Tabitha); brothers-in-law, Brian Raben (Gretchen), Kevin Raben, Chad Raben (Nikki); sister-in-law, Schelly Weidner (Mark); 15 nieces and nephews; and the family dog, JoJo Rainbow. Nick Raben and the family would like to thank everyone who made this journey as easy as possible. From the countless texts, meal preparations, home and lawn care, the outpouring was incredible. They’d also like to thank the wonderful Dr. Tony Stephens and the entire staff out at Oncology Hematology Associates. Their guidance and love won’t be forgotten. A Celebration of Kate will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2019 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Pastor Craig Duke. Friends may visit 1-6 p.m. on Sunday, with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m., and 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Chemo Buddies at www.chemobuddies.org/donate.
