Oscar A. Zillig

Oscar A. Zillig, 94 of Monroe, NY, passed away on March 14, 2018. Oscar was born in Bronx, NY on January 16, 1924 to George and Helene (Spaulding) Zillig. Oscar was married to Veronica C. (Good) Zillig on June 19, 1949 at St. Anselms Church in the Bronx, NY. Oscar proudly served in the United State Army Air Corps during World War II in the South West Pacific 13th Air Force 5th Bomb Group 31st B.S. Oscar worked as a foreman for New York Telephone Company for 35years. He was a Past Post Commander and life member of the V.F.W. Post 8691 in Washingtonville, NY. He managed Washingtonville Little League and was Scout leader for Troop 27 in Washingtonville, NY. Oscar also enjoyed golf and bowling. He is survived by his devoted wife Veronica Zillig at home, beloved father to Barbara (Zillig) Bequette of Cornwall, NY, Patricia Zillig of Maybrook, NY and Richard Zillig of Newburgh, NY, John Zillig of Salisbury Mills, NY. Loving grandfather to Melissa, Tracy, Richard Jr, Christopher, Ryan and Brett, Cherished Great grandfather to Jacob, Avery, Reese, Riley, Kayla, Nickolas, Blake and Richard III. Visitation will be on Sunday March 18, 2018 from 4pm – 6pm at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY.
