Frederick "Fritz" A. Wesemeyer

Born on December 24, 1933, in Parma, Ohio, Fritz Wesemeyer passed away on October 9, 2020 in Bloomington, Indiana. Fritz was the son of Herman and Clara Wesemeyer. He graduated from Parma Schaaf High School, class of 1952

Fritz spent his career in the construction industry. He graduated from Maxx S. Hayas Trade School in Cleveland, Ohio in 1956 with a major in carpentry. Fritz worked in all facets of construction for fifty years. During the latter part of his career, Fritz served as an Architects Representative on numerous school construction/renovation projects, including on the renovation of Bloomington High School South. He loved the complexity and creativity that came with construction and the satisfaction of a job well-done.

Fritz married his wife, Betty (Shriner) Schultz on March 6, 1976. In addition to be a devoted husband and father, Fritz’s hobbies were woodworking and building furniture. Fritz also had a special way with animals. He enjoyed raising and training German Shepherd dogs, and training quarter horses. He had a loving heart and was a great story teller. He loved life and loved the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Herman Wesemeyer. He is survived by his wife Betty, his son Roy Wesemeyer and daughter-in-law Barbara, his daughter Heidi Schultz, his son Fred Schultz and daughter-in-law Jennifer Roessler Schultz. He is also survived by a grandson, William “Bill” Schultz.

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Life, which will be held on November 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Genesis Church in Bloomington, Indiana.

Sending my sympathy, but although it is many years since I've seen Fritz, his name brings a smile. To me he was kind and gracious, and his faith radiated from him in many ways. Surely he walks with the Lord and left a lovely footprint on this world.

We'll all miss this gentle giant, his spirit has impacted many. He is resting in the Creator's arms, free of earthly burdens now. His life exhibited what a trusted and faithful servant means. Namaste my Friend.
