Obituary of Helen Louise Hartfield
Rev. Helen Louise Hartfield, 75, of Bloomington, went away to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital Hospice House after a long illness. She was born in Bloomington, Indiana on October 23, 1942 to Lonnie L. Hartfield and Helen P. Brannon Hartfield who preceded her in death. She attended Banneker Elementary School which is now the Westside Community Center and Bloomington High School where the Kroger Seminary Square is now located. At the age of ten she was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost at age thirteen. Rev. Helen L. Hartfield was a church evangelist for 12 years under her mother; and was installed in1976 as pastor of Mercy Mission Apostolic Faith Church located at 217 North Elm Street; where she faithfully served for 41 years until her illness. Rev. Hartfield received her ministerial credentials from the following: *CERTIFICATES: Christ for the Nations Training School; Dallas, Texas. June 20, 1983 *CERTIFICATES: Christ for the Nations Training School; Dallas, Texas. December 17, 1982 *DEGREE: Associate of Theology; January 16, 1977 *MINISTERIAL LICENSE: Pentecostal Assemblies of the World November 23, 1976 *Attended Christian Bible College for 3 years, Rocky Mount, Inc.State of North Carolina. Rev. Hartfield worked at a number of businesses: RCA, Mace Supermarket, Hills Department Store, Sears, and Lowes Home Improvement while continuing to preach and teach the gospel; not only in her pulpit but in her daily walk. Survivors include a daughter, Amanda Brook Hartfield, two grandsons, Kalael “KJ” and Keyon Hartfield; two brothers Lonnie Jay Hartfield and William Hartfield. She also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews and cousins as well as many church families, friends, acquaintances, and pets. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 East 3rd Street, Bloomington, IN 47401with Bishop Willie Smith officiating.
