Marvin E. Breeden, 82 of Bloomington was peacefully called home on Saturday, December 14, 2013 with his family by his side while in I.U. Health, Bloomington Hospital. He was born June 10, 1931 in Covington, IN to Rapheal Breeden and Elsie Hughes Breeden. He was the former manager of Holland Dairy in Bloomington.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Wilma Reed Breeden; three daughters, Pam Hacker of Bloomington, Kimberly Staley and her husband Robert of Greenwood and Diana Emery of Bloomington; two brothers, Harlan Breeden and his wife Polly of Bloomington and Jim Breeden and his wife Betty of Bloomfield; five grandchildren, Lydia Mosier and her husband Jim, Courtnay Lauderdale and her husband Jeff, Melissa Robinson and her husband Chris, Eric Staley and his wife Hope also Brittany Emery; four great-grandchildren, Kelsey Walton, Garrett Walton, Makayla Lauderdale and Addey Staley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gladys Keller and Juanita Strahle; a brother, Harold Breeden; and a son-in-law, Kenneth Hacker.
Marvin was a member of Woodhaven Christian Church. He also enjoyed collecting John Deere memorabilia, watching I.U. Basketball and Football, The Colts, and spending time with his family. He was a great father and husband and was most at peace when he could be on his John Deere Tractor.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday December 17, 2013 in Day Funeral Home, 4150 East 3rd Street, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Steve Baker officiating. Entombment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, December 16, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. If friends so desire, Memorial Contributions may be made to Toys for Tots or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 13067, Alexandria, VA 22312.
