Miriam I. Mobley

Miriam Ione Mobley, age 92, of Bloomington, passed away Monday, May 25, 2020 at I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital. Born July 14, 1927 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Herman and Thelma (Myers) Nale. Miriam had attended University High School and worked in payroll at the former Tom Taylor Foods of which her late husband, Elmer, was a part owner. She and Elmer later on owned and operated the East Fork Family Restaurant on E. Third St. from 1987-1993 and then worked for Home Instead. Miriam was a member of the Stoneybrook Church of God, Eastern Star, The Social Order of the Beauceant, the Stonebelt Shrine Club Stonettes and the Hillbilly Club and the American Legion Ladies Auxillary.
Miriam is survived by her two sons; Mike (Sherry) Mobley and Chuck (Andrea) Mobley, both of Bloomington; her daughter, Cathy (Craig) Walden, of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Tammy (David) Axsom, Michelle Tellis, Darren Galyan, Matthew (Shameika) Walden and Samantha Walden; six great-grandchildren, Jeremy McIntire, Nicole Hall, Aubri Walden, Van Walden, Makayla Tellis and Michael Tellis and two great-great-grandchildren, Hunter McIntire and Karsen McIntire.
Miriam was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Elmer L. Mobley, sister, Sue Ellen Jensen and one granddaughter, Michelle Galyan.
The private family funeral service will be held on Friday at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with guests being limited to 25 at a time due to Covid19 restrictions.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the charity of one’s choice.
