Robert Alvin Merry

Robert Alvin “Buddy” Merry, age 86, of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Bell Trace Senior Living in Bloomington. Born September 8, 1935 in Bono, Indiana, he was the son of Jessie and Mary (Martin) Merry. He was raised by his grandparents, Bill and Lula Martin and later by his step-father, Byron Ticen and his mother, Mary Martin. Buddy worked for CSX railroad for 42 years where he retired as the Bloomington yardmaster. He was a Smithville High School graduate, Class of 1953. Buddy is survived by his daughter, Lee Ann Merry, of Bloomington, one son, Steve Merry, of Bloomington, one sister, Barbara Ticen, of Harrodsburg and two grandchildren, Stuart Ferguson and Emma Ferguson. Buddy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Sharon R. (Mills) Merry, on March 19, 2022 and one brother, Jay Ticen.
