Kimberlee Lockhart-Massaro passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 24, 2021 at 58 years young. Kim was a light in life to anyone who had the pleasure of being in her presence.

Kim had two great passions in life that she took great pride in. She was a dedicated special education teacher who spent 36 years teaching life skills, while also dedicating her Sundays working with the Colts. Along with her passion of teaching, Kim was overjoyed to spend time with her husband and two sons. She was so proud to watch her boys grow up to be the men they are today. Words could not describe her happiness to see the men her boys turned out to be.

She is survived by her parents George and Beverly Lockhart, brother Kevin Lockhart, her loving husband of 35 years, Ed Massaro, her two sons Chris Massaro (Darby Smith), and Mike Massaro (Diedre Massaro) and her grandson Adonis Massaro.

Services will be held at Leppert Mortuary Carmel on Saturday, July 3, 2021. Visitation will be from 12:00-4:00pm with services directly after. A celebration of life will be held at Mike and Diedre’s home in Carmel from 5:00-9:00pm for anyone who would like to join and celebrate Kim’s life.

Flowers can be sent to Leppert Mortuary for display during the services. Ed would like potted plants if possible, as those were Kim’s favorite.

Sorry Bev and I can't make it to Kim's funeral. I have to have surgery this Friday.. I remember how much She, Ed, Michael and Chris liked to be @ the beach in Gulf Shores AL. You could easily tell by her demeanor that Kim really liked it there. Walking on the beach or hanging in their condo was Her happy place. She surely will be missed by all who loved and knew her. Love and prayers,
Dick and Bev

I was there when Kim did her student teaching and watched her grow into a very talented teacher. She filled our school with laughter and joy! We were friends through it all.

Kim was such a light in the teaching world! As a speech pathologist I loved working with her students as she always seemed to want to be a huge part of our lesson. Such a gifted lady. I m so glad I got to know the wonderful person she was! Fond memories!

Kim Massaro was an angel at WHS to so many students and to her colleagues. I have fond memories of her when I was a brand new teacher--she was friendly and encouraging me and was always good for a Friday after school celebration! She was one of the hardest working teachers I've ever known, and there was no doubt that her love for her boys and Ed was infinite. Sending love to the entire family at this difficult time. She will be so very missed. Praying for you all.

Kim and I worked together years ago at Tri County Opportunity School. What great memories … she was great with the students!! We became fast friends and our families vacationed together in Gulf Shores for many years. I will never forget Kim making Red Royal Shrimp and lobster tails that Ed bought at the local seafood shop! No one could make them better. Our family suffered a lot of losses and she was always there with love and support! I hope that Brittany and Stephanie were there to greet you when you arrived home!! RIP My Friend! Love, Jules

Ed and sons,

Kim was Ronnie’s teacher at Tri-County many years ago. She was a great person who I considered a friend. Ronnie loved her and had her as a teacher until he passed away. She was a blessing to all. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Gloria
