Armando “Dito” R., 12 years old peacefully passed away on Friday November 23, 2018 at Advocates Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL; with his loving mother by his side. He is survived by his mother: Maria Serna, father : Armando Rodriguez Jr., brother: Angel Cruz, sisters : Claudia Rodriguez, Vanessa Rodriguez, Lyzette Rodriguez, & Veronica Cruz, grandparents Mary & Steve Novath along with many aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and great-cousins who were all touched by his life and love. He is preceded in death by his grand parents Armando & Maria Eva Rodriguez ,great-grandparents Dorothy & Timothy Driscoll. Dito attended the Speed Academy where he spent his time working on therapeutic, daily living, and socialization skills. In Dito’s free time he enjoyed playing with anything Batman related, listening to music, sensory activities, spending time with his family watching Disney and Superhero movies, cuddling with his mom, and watching his siblings in extra-curricular activities. The family would like to give a heart warmed thank you to the many therapist, doctors, nurses, aides, and teachers that have impacted Dito’s life the last 12 years with their care and compassion. The family would like to invite you to come join them for a Memorial Gathering on Tuesday December 4th from 4-8 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home in Crown Point IN to celebrate Dito’s life. In honor of Dito’s love for Batman we ask friends and family to wear your favorite Batman item in memory of our sweet angel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
