Genevieve Rapin Christensen

Genevieve Rapin Christensen, of Crown Point, age 88, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2018 with her loving family and husband of 51 years at her side. Genevieve was born November 11, 1929 in Hammond to the late Emil and Sylvia Rapin; also preceding her in death is her brother, Frank (late Diana) Rapin. Survivors are her husband, Richard Glenn Christensen; nephew, Frank Rapin, Jr.; nieces, Deborah (Dave) Straka, Denise (Terry) Murphy; great nephews, David Straka, Jr., Daniel Straka, Jimmy Murphy, Jeremy Murphy, and Frankie Rapin III; great niece, Gabrielle Rapin; great-great nephew, Everett. Genevieve studied fashion design at The Art Institute of Chicago, but later entered the field of business law and worked at the Harris Trust Bank in Chicago. She and her husband met in a bicycle club. They lived in Griffith for 10 years and in Crown Point for the past 41 years. She was a hobbyist, a gardener and an avid reader. She delighted in the holidays, and spending time with her loving family. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 9, from 11:00 am until the time of her funeral services at 1:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave.; Crown Point, IN 46307). Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
