Gladys Irene Arwood

Gladys Irene Arwood, age 92, of Chesterton, IN passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022. Gladys was born August 17, 1929 in Erwin, TN. Gladys was the youngest of 9 siblings and the last one to pass out of all her siblings, their spouses, her husband and his 11 siblings and their spouses; and she was also the last of the original families from the block they lived on for over 60 years. Everyone watched out for her and loved to be around her. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, and even gardening. She had the best green thumb. Gladys was also an amazing cook. She loved her family tremendously and did everything she could to care for them. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Arwood and her daughter, Deloris Arwood. Gladys is survived by her son, Kenneth Arwood; her son, Warren (Beth) Arwood; and her son, Steven (Carol) Arwood. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. A Public Visitation for Gladys will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Following the Visitation, a Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM. Gladys will be laid to rest in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307.
