

Norma Lee Cannon, affectionately known as Nan, passed away on October 18, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on March 16, 1944, in Salina, Oklahoma, she was the cherished daughter of Leonard Ray DeMoss and Wilma Florene Wise. She spent her entire life in Edmond, Oklahoma, where she was deeply loved by her family and community.
Norma married Franklin Cannon on June 30, 1967, and they shared a remarkable 58 years together. Their love story was one that everyone admired, having loved each other since grade school.
Norma was known for her vibrant personality and her love for life. She had beautiful red hair and green eyes, and she was often described as everyone's mom. Her favorite music included the tunes of Conway Twitty and Elvis, and her favorite color was green. A perfect day for Nan was any day spent with her beloved husband, Franklin. She enjoyed going on girls' trips with her daughters, Patricia and Peggy, where they would laugh until they cried.
A member of the Big Red Motorcycle Club, Nan had her own motorcycle and rode across the United States with Franklin. She loved decorating for every holiday and was incredibly loved by all who knew her.
Norma is preceded in death by her siblings: Myrle Ray DeMoss and wife Dorothy DeMoss, Vernon Wayne DeMoss, Barbara DeMoss Wheeler and husband Roy Wheeler, and Neva DeMoss Oxford.
Norma is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Franklin, her children Peggy Lee McKelvey and husband Kenny of Edmond, OK; Patricia Cannon Forsythe and husband Larry of Arcadia, OK; James Franklin Cannon of Yukon, OK, as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Cassie McKelvey, Kenny McKelvey Jr., Tyler Cannon and wife Haley, Dalton Forsythe, Jennifer Forsythe, Jacqelinn Cannon, Kyler McKelvey, and Kollin McKelvey. She is also survived by her brother Rudy DeMoss and wife Jill of Gravelle, Arkansas, as well as 14 nieces and 16 nephews. Her caregivers included Peggy McKelvey, Franklin Cannon, Jennifer Forsythe, and Trish Forsythe.
Visitation will be held at Baggerley Funeral Home, located at 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034, on October 26, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same venue on October 27, 2025, at 2:00 pm, followed by the committal service at Oakwood Cemetery, 7200 E 15th St, Edmond, OK 73013, at 3:15 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America. Norma’s legacy of love and joy will continue to inspire all who knew her.
