Bobbie Marks
January 5, 1923 – September 11, 2013
Bobbie Marks, 90, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Parkview Care Center surrounded by loved ones. He was born January 5, 1923 in Webster County Kentucky to Bettye and Christopher Marks.
He graduated from Slaughters High School and served in the Navy during WWII on LST 797 in the Pacific Theater, where he earned a Purple Heart. He was a life member of VFW Post 1114 and worked at Whirlpool Corporation for 43 years. He attended St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
Bobbie was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael L. Pfafflin; brothers, Willie, Leslie, Lemuel, Bethel, John and Ben; and sisters, Jo Toombs and Imogene Brooks.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise (Georget); daughters, Nancy (Glenn) Hile, Susan (Russell) Woosley; and daughter-in-law Rebecca Pfafflin, all of Evansville; grandchildren Jay (Sandra) and Jeremy (Shannon) Hile, both of St. Phillips, Anna (Nick) Woosley-Waters of Evansville, and Evan (Kerry) Woosley of Mt. Vernon. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 AM Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jeff Long, and will include military rites. Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel.
The family would like to thank the staff at Parkview Care Center for their compassion and care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VFW 1114 or to the American Diabetes Association .

I will always remember uncle Bobbie as a gentleman with a smile on his face. Being my uncle I have of course known him all my life and he was always smiling and laughing. What a guy. He will be missed by all of us. David Herrenbruck

Bobbie and I graduated from Slaughter's High School together. I lost track of him after graduation when he went into service. Sorry to hear of his death and am praying God's blessing on you and your family.

We were so sad to hear of Uncle Bobbie's passing. It is so hard to believe that all of the Marks 9 siblings are gone, what a legacy they have left behind. Uncle Bobbie was such a sweet and kind man. I am so sorry for your loss, he will be greatly missed.
