Sylvester Groeninger, 85, of Evansville, IN passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Park Terrace Village. He was born on October 26, 1933 to the late Fred and Wilhelmina Groeninger.
He was District Manager for many years at Red Bird Oil. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and going to auctions. He always had an annual yard sale.
He was preceded in death by his Wife Rowena W. (George) Groeninger.
Sylvester is survived by his sons, Michael Groeninger (Teresa), and Dan Groeninger; daughters, Carol Armstrong and Sylvia MacLaughlin (Rob); grandchildren, Bryan, Jayme, Jenny, Justin, Brad, Stuart, Rylie and Evan; 4 great grandchildren ; companion Anita Greathouse.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel of Remembrance Officiated by Celebrant Carrie Hatchett.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.

I used to work with Syl at Red Bird. One of my favorite people I have ever had the privilege to work with. I haven't seen Syl probably since around 1971 or1972, but I will always remember what a kind-hearted person he was, and such a delightful person to be around. My condolences to his family.

Groeninger family, So very sorry for your loss. Not sure any of you will remember me but I lived on Bell Ave. off of Franklin St. with my aunt and uncle the Kaffenberger’s as a young child, I remember your family lived across the street.
