Clarice Jean Craighead

CLARICE J. (DUNTEN) CRAIGHEAD, of Fort Wayne, died peacefully at the age of 92, on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, surrounded by her family. Known to all as Jeanne, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Born October 16, 1926, she was the oldest daughter of the late Russell Sr. and Irene (Krieg) Dunten. She was an avid reader and enjoyed boating, swimming and fishing with her family and friends at her former home on Crooked Lake, as well as making Christmas cookies and candies and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children and their spouses: sons Michael (Mona) Craighead, Bluffton, IN and John (Pat) Craighead, Portage, IN; and her daughter, Diann (Jim) Eggleston, Carmel, IN. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Herbert Bauer, Fort Wayne, IN; her eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Ralph Craighead, Jr., her two brothers, Russell Dunten, Jr. and Clifford Dunten; and her daughter-in-law Kay (Steffen) Craighead. Mass of Christian burial is at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic church, 7215 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, IN with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday, December 10, 2018 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, IN. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
